
Application specifics
To apply for a visa to Spain, citizens of Kyrgyzstan need to approach:
a visa centre (for short-stay visas)
the Spanish consulate/embassy (for long-stay visas)
Since Kyrgyzstan has no Spanish consulate of its own, applicants usually submit their documents through Spanish consular offices accredited for the region (for example, in Kazakhstan) or through visa centres.
Short-stay visa (Schengen, category C)
Intended for:
tourism
business trips
short-term study (up to 90 days)
Length of stay:
up to 90 days within a 180-day period
Mandatory if:
the studies last more than 90 days
the programme takes place at an accredited educational institution
It grants the right to:
stay in Spain for more than 3 months
study towards a diploma or certificate
To obtain a category D visa you need:
A letter of admission to an educational institution
Proof of financial means
Health insurance
Proof of accommodation
A clean criminal record (for long-stay visas)
A medical certificate
Visa C (up to 90 days):
submitted through Spanish visa centres
Student visa D (more than 90 days):
submitted at the Spanish consulate accredited for Kyrgyzstan
(for example, the Embassy of Spain in Kazakhstan)
For visa C:
biometrics must be provided (if not provided within the last 59 months)
For visa D:
in-person submission is mandatory
an interview may be conducted
If you have received a category D visa:
you must obtain a residence permit (TIE)
registration is carried out in Spain within the set deadline
Visa C — around 15 calendar days
Visa D — from several weeks to 1–2 months
Processing times may be longer if additional checks are required
All documents must be:
in Spanish
or
translated into Spanish
For a long-stay visa:
an official translation is required
some documents may require legalisation or an apostille
For long-term study:
the educational institution must be officially accredited
the programme must be full-time
