How the application works

Citizens of Kyrgyzstan can visit Turkey visa-free for a limited period (usually up to 60 days). For long-term study, however, you will need a student visa and, after that, a residence permit.

For university study, it is best to obtain the student visa in advance in your country of residence, to avoid complications when arranging your residence permit later.

Visa-free entry

For short trips (tourism, visits):

• no visa is required

• the length of stay is limited (usually up to 60 days)

• you enter on an international passport

On entry you may be asked for:

• a return ticket

• proof of accommodation

• proof of financial means

Visa-free entry does not allow long-term study or grant student status without further paperwork.

How to apply for a student visa

The process usually involves:

• admission to an institution

• receiving an official invitation

• submitting documents to the Turkish consulate

• having the application reviewed

• receiving the visa and entering the country

• arranging the residence permit once in Turkey
