Specifics of the process

Documents for a United Kingdom visa are submitted by prior appointment at a visa application centre.

In Kyrgyzstan, applicants submit their documents through the visa application centre that works with UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI).

The submission system is fully electronic:

• the application form is completed online

• documents are uploaded to your personal account before the visit

• if needed, you can use the paid document scanning service at the visa application centre

An application can only be submitted with the applicant present in person, as biometric data (fingerprints and a photograph) must be provided.

• Children under 5 do not give fingerprints, but their presence is required

• Minors (under 18) must be accompanied by an adult

Student visa to the United Kingdom

If you are planning to study:

• Up to 6 months — you can apply for a Visitor visa (tourist)

  • suitable for short courses

  • easier to obtain

  • no medical examination required

• More than 6 months — you need to apply for a Student visa

  • confirmation of admission (CAS) is required

  • a medical examination is mandatory (at accredited clinics)

  • a higher consular fee

Processing times

• Standard time: around 3 weeks (15 working days)

• In practice, times can be longer due to additional checks

Recommended submission times:

• Student visa — no earlier than 6 months before the start of studies

• Tourist visa — no earlier than 3 months before the trip

Priority processing may be available depending on the country of submission and the current conditions at the visa application centre.
