How the process works
Documents for a UK visa are submitted by prior appointment at a visa application centre.
In Kyrgyzstan, applicants submit their documents through the visa application centre that works with UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI).
The whole submission system is electronic:
you complete the application form online
you upload your documents to your account before the visit
if needed, you can use the paid document-scanning service at the visa application centre
You can only apply in person, as biometric data (fingerprints and a photograph) must be provided.
Children under 5 do not give fingerprints, but must attend
Under-18s must be accompanied by an adult
If you are planning to study:
Up to 6 months — you can apply for a Visitor visa (tourist)
suitable for short courses
easier to obtain
no medical examination required
More than 6 months — you need to apply for a Student visa
confirmation of admission (CAS) is required
a medical examination is compulsory (at accredited clinics)
a higher consular fee applies
There is also:
Short-term Student visa (6–11 months) — for learning English
Citizens of Kyrgyzstan can apply for the following types of UK visa:
Visitor visa
(tourism, visits, business trips, short-term study up to 6 months)
Student / Child Student visa

Parent of a Child Student visa
(for parents of children under 12 studying in the United Kingdom)
Graduate visa

Standard time: around 3 weeks (15 working days)
In practice, it can take longer because of additional checks
Recommended times to apply:
Student visa — no earlier than 6 months before your course begins
Tourist visa — no earlier than 3 months before the trip
Priority processing may be available, depending on where you apply and the current conditions at the visa application centre.
